About the Journal

J-Act (Journal of Community Action and Empowerment) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal that focuses on the dissemination of innovative practices, research findings, and development models in community service and empowerment. This journal serves as a forum for academics, practitioners, researchers, and community development actors to share their work and contribute to the advancement of inclusive and sustainable social transformation.

The journal is published four times a year (February, May, August, and November) by CV Digitech Minahasa and accepts manuscripts in Indonesian and English.


Focus and Scope

J-Act welcomes manuscripts in the following areas of interest:

  • Education and community literacy

  • Health and public well-being

  • Socioeconomic empowerment and MSME development

  • Environmental sustainability

  • Technology for community development

  • Social inclusion, local culture, and participatory governance

Submissions may include original research articles, case studies, best practices, reviews, or development reports.


Open Access Policy

J-Act provides immediate open access to all its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. No subscription or registration is required to access the journal content.

Authors retain copyright of their published articles and grant J-Act the right of first publication. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited and not used for commercial purposes.


Sponsorship and Funding Disclosure

J-Act is independently published by CV Digitech Minahasa. It does not currently receive funding or sponsorship from any external institution. The publication is sustained by internal resources and possible article processing charges (if any).


History of the Journal

J-Act was established in 2024 as a response to the growing need for a dedicated platform to publish quality scientific work on community engagement and empowerment. The journal strives to bridge the gap between academia and society through knowledge sharing and community-based innovation.

J-Act is committed to long-term digital preservation of its content. The journal is archived in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and will also be integrated with LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems in the near future to ensure secure and permanent access to its published content.
